If you install Nmap via apt or yum you may have to manually install the Zenmap package. Zenmap is automatically installed when you compile Nmap from source on a system with a desktop such as Gnome or KDE. To start Zenmap go to Start > Programs > Nmap > Zenmap GUI. Zenmap is installed by default when you install Nmap on Windows systems. The Zenmap GUI is a cross-platform program that can be used on Windows, Mac OS X, and Unix/Linux systems.
